Tax tip of the month: Encourage clients to apply for the Disability Tax Credit

Do you have a client who may be eligible for the Disability Tax Credit (DTC)? Many Canadians may not apply for the DTC because they haven’t received a doctor’s diagnosis. However, eligibility is based on the effects of a physical or mental impairment that is severe and prolonged, which results in a marked restriction. All applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, so it’s worthwhile to encourage your client to apply if they may be eligible.
